Horizon School is a small school that offers individual programming to meet the unique needs of each individual student. Students at Horizon face a variety of challenges including communication difficulties, physical disabilities, cognitive development delays and independent life skills. Individual program plans have goals related to promoting independence, communication, socialization, physical strength and mobility and off-campus learning. The focus of the individualized programs includes multi-sensory stimulation, functional life skills, communication skills, functional academics, and fitness/health in a safe, positive environment. The staff, who are committed to ongoing professional development, provide programs which are designed to meet the individual needs of each child in attendance.
Horizon’s facilities enhance program delivery. A greenhouse, outdoor therapeutic garden, Snoezelen Room, exercise room, gymnasium, and computer lab/iPad cart with assistive technology are a few of the features that make Horizon unique.
