Orientation program sets solid grounding for new teachers
An annual New Teacher Orientation, part of what is considered one of the most extensive mentorship programs in the province, is underway at Chinook’s Edge.
“Our Board really believes in supporting our new teachers, so they can have the best start possible,” said Lissa Steele, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “It is important that our teachers know the extensive support available to them, both during their first year of teaching and throughout their careers. Statistics show that a fairly high percentage of teachers leave the profession within the first five years, so our efforts are geared towards retaining these highly skilled professionals and benefitting our students.” more...
Warm welcome for new students

Ron Miller welcomed students to his classroom on the first morning of September, as Olds High School hosted a special orientation event for grade 9 students, The event was planned so that students could become familiar with the Community Learning Campus before classes officially begin. School will be underway in all Chinook's Edge schools on Thursday, September 2.
